As April once again rolls into view, with it comes Spring marathon season and all those months of long training runs on cold winter mornings comes to fruition. On April 15th, I will be running my third Brighton marathon without shoes. Then, 1 week later on the 22nd, I will participate in my third London marathon, also with no shoes on.
I will be running both of these 26.2 mile races for Macmillan Cancer Support a charity close to my heart. My father passed away in December 2010 after a difficult battle with liver cancer. Before he became a cancer patient himself, dad was a big supporter of Macmillan after the great work they did for my grandmother, so it was the perfect choice for me to raise money for them. I will be wearing my Green vest with pride (even though it has a shoe on it) on both big days and would love to raise as much as possible for them so if you are feeling generous, please dig deep and donate here or text BFJA80 £5 to 70070. The work they do is invaluable in helping patients and their families deal with the harsh realities of cancer.
And if you are in Brighton or London on either of those weekends, please look out for me and shout your support! Look out for the Green vest and the mohican hairstyle!
